Crash Doubt Festival brings enormous talent to the city of Lincoln.
Exciting and independent music is set to make its mark on the Lincolnshire music scene next week. Crash Doubt Festival will take over the newly opened venue, The Showroom on Tritton Road in Lincoln. The festival will take place over two days on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May and will bring numerous hyped punk, indie and hardcore acts to the city, whilst also attracting festival goers from across the country.
After many years of organising shows around Lincoln, promoter and organiser Matt Hendry has taken a big step into bringing some of the best British music to the city. “I've been putting on gigs for years here and thought this is the year I have to do something special. Hopefully it'll put Lincoln on the map a little more and we'll get more bands coming through our tiny city,” Hendry explains, as he aims for the weekend to bring ‘good times‘ to Lincoln.
Whilst Crash Doubt Festival is on the verge of selling out, Hendry is overwhelmed with the public reaction to the event, allowing it to become one of the most talked about events in recent months as it encounters the city. “What started off so small seems to have turned into something quite big, I even know a couple of people from Holland and Germany coming over for it!” Hendry exclaims, as a high number of tickets have been sold in advance, leaving very little to be available on the venue doors.
Crash Doubt has allowed for a large amount of attention to be brought towards the Lincoln music scene, as the festival has become a stop for a number of touring circuits. “People automatically write off Lincoln, they think of it as a farmers market” jokes Hendry, as he introduces Crash Doubt in order to regain Lincoln its reputation as a hot spot for live music. The festival will spread bands across three different stages, including a line up of additions such as Deaf Havana, While She Sleeps, Lower Than Atlantis, Life Ruiner, Flood Of Red, Feed The Rhino, Shaped By Fate, Heart in Hand, This Is Colour, and others, introducing some of the finest and most hardworking UK bands to the city, as well giving the chance for many of the local Lincoln based bands to be showcased to new audiences.
“Crash Doubt is bringing one of the best two days of music Lincoln has seen for a long while, uniting all fans of punk rock, with a focus on highly important moral and social values,” explains Ducking Punches front man Dan Allen. Ducking Punches, who are currently warming to release their new E.P on Aah Real Records in the UK, will be performing their brand of folk influenced punk rock at the Sunday leg of the festival. Dan will be performing a number of new tracks from the record, as he gets ready to take his music on the road this summer on a number of lengthy tours across the UK. (City and Colour fans should definitely check out Ducking Punches here.)
“I think I want to watch every single act,” Allen mentions, as he expresses his excitement for the festival and for the artists he will be performing alongside. “Matt has really pulled out all the stops with the lineup.” Not only will Crash Doubt give Lincoln its break but it is also set to host a large amount of new and unsigned underground bands, who are all about to make their mark on the British scene. Allowing for the festival attendees to receive a taster of the exciting new acts in which are currently spawning into the British music scene.
In order to bring the festival spirit into Lincoln, the event will also hold a number of outdoor bars, barbeque and entertainment, which will compliment the continuous early summer weather that we are currently experiencing.
With the success of the festival this year, Crash Doubt makes way for the possibility of future events. “We're working on something ten fold bigger for next year, but I can't tell you anything about that yet!” After the ecstatic reception of Crash Doubt, Lincoln may have found itself a new festival champion. The remaining tickets for Crash Doubt festival can be purchased via the Crash Doubt webpage or in store at Back To Mono, located in the Mall on Lincoln Highstreet. Dont forget to RSVP on the facebook event page too!
